A study found that clients who pay above average for SEO services are more likely to be satisfied than those who pay less.
The average US small business spends on SEO services is $497.16 per month.
The study found that clients making more than $500 a month were 53.3% more likely to be “extremely satisfied” than those making less than $500 a month.
This data is part of Backlinko’s survey of 1,200 business owners with questions related to the SEO services industry.

SEO services in 2019
When it comes to finding SEO services, most small business owners rely on referrals, Google searches, and online reviews.
Nearly 75% of business owners say their SEO provider’s reputation is “very” or “extremely” important when deciding whether to hire one. The location of the service provider is also an important consideration.
The most important thing business owners expect from an SEO service provider is to help them attract new customers and generate more revenue.
Business owners also look to SEO service providers to help increase brand awareness.
With only 30% of business owners recommending their current service provider, the vast majority of SEOs appear to be falling short.
In fact, clients who work with agencies report higher satisfaction than those who work with freelancers.
Unsatisfied results are the number one reason clients leave service providers. Customer service and responsiveness were her second reasons.
The result of all frustration is high SEO turnover. More than half of the clients surveyed said they have worked with more than one service provider.
