I found a strange question asked by John Mueller of Google about plagiarism. The problem was the percentage level of plagiarism that Google allowed for a site to be ranked on Google. 5%, 10%, etc.? Strange question, but I believe there are some myths about plagiarizing content for SEO purposes.
The question was posted on Twitter, asking, “Is there a certain percentage of plagiarism that is acceptable for content. Some say 5-10% is acceptable. How true is that? Are there any specific guidelines for plagiarism?” ”.
I don’t know how John will answer, but he said, “Who will be accepted? Why don’t you aim for zero?”
These tweets are:
Who is accepted? Why not aim for zero?

He goes on to explain that this is accepted by the SEO industry…
If most of your site’s traffic comes from SEO professionals, I ask them.

I’m not going to make an SEO joke that everyone expects, but are you serious? Where does this stuff come from?
Sure, there have been people who have claimed to be plagiarizing their own content, but this is just a misuse of words. Maybe it’s the same here, people don’t understand the true definition of plagiarism? ?
Sure, you can quote people and add more context, your own opinions, your own values, as I do in this article. , is wrong and unethical. Can you do that and rank in Google searches? Maybe…but there’s no percentage of Google saying it’s okay when it comes to plagiarism or anything else…
