Evernote announced a small but notable update to the platform this week. The popular notes and task management app now allows users to easily return to previous notes via backlinks. According to Evernote, this was one of the most requested features by users, and it’s finally here.
Evernote users can now navigate notes via backlinks
The platform allows users to link one note to another. However, going back to previous notes was not an intuitive task. But with backlinks, the Evernote app now shows all previous notes that the user has navigated to. Now you can go back to those notes with just a tap. Evernote explains:
According to Evernote, backlinks make it easier to “connect ideas.” For example, a user writing a monthly newsletter may need to open multiple notes as part of the research process. Backlinks allow users to return to a specific note without returning to the main app screen and searching again.
Introducing backlinks, one of the most requested Evernote features. The backlinks we’re currently rolling out to Evernote Personal, Professional, and Teams customers make it easy to follow these threads in either direction.
You can now quickly see and navigate to notes that are linked to the note you’re currently viewing, making it easier to work with multiple notes. No more jumping through hoops to search for relevant information you get. Find what you’re looking for without leaving a note.
Back in December, an update to the Evernote app enabled offline notes for premium subscribers. The iOS app has also been updated with iOS 16 lock screen widgets. As for backlinks, this new feature is rolling out to his Evernote Personal, Professional, and Teams users on his web and mobile apps.
