Google’s John Mueller said there has been a change to the office hours format for the SEOs he frequently hosts on Google Meet and YouTube. The change is that Google will only record and post videos of pre-submitted questions. Live questions are not recorded and will not be shared in the recorded version.
He also doesn’t seem to answer all questions, instead posting more questions directly to the Google Search Central help forum.
“For this session, I want to try something a little different,” John said, adding that he might try “variations” of this over time to see what works best. “In a recorded session, I want to focus on the questions that are submitted,” I explained, so I recorded the first 30 minutes and did not receive any live questions, just answering the questions that were submitted beforehand. .
He said he could ask questions to anyone who attended the live show, but after the first part of the session, which lasted about 30 minutes, he said, “I have to be a little He said he could “clarify questions along the way if anything seemed confusing or a little unclear.” It wasn’t that John read those questions out loud and answered what he could.
He said the change was two-fold: (1) it made it easier for us to digest, and (2) it helped him and the Googlers “prepare for these sessions.”
He added that he “strongly recommends going to the help forums” for questions posed that are “too specific or lead to topics that are too far from the question posed.”

I think this reduces the chunks of information from his video that we cover here, which is sad, but I think that’s what Google is trying to avoid.
