Google is rolling out new search ranking algorithm updates that target the more spammy aspects of search results.
The company calls this update the “October 2022 spam update.” It takes about a week to fully expand and appear in search results.
According to Google, this update is global and affects all languages.
What are spam updates? Google writes:
“Google’s automated system for detecting search spam is always up and running, but we sometimes make significant improvements to how it works. When we do, we call this a spam update, and it happens in a list of ranking updates in Google Search. If you do, for example, SpamBrain is an AI-based anti-spam system, we are constantly improving our system to better detect spam and ensure that new types of spam are detected.After spam updates Sites that see changes should review their spam policies to ensure they comply with them.Sites that violate our policies may rank lower in results or may not appear in results at all. If automated systems learn over months that a site complies with our spam policy, making changes may help improve the site.”

previous update. Prior to this, the most recent Google spam update we saw was the November 2021 spam update. Google has also released his two-part spam updates for June 23, 2021 and his June 28, 2021, and Links his spam updates for July, 2021.
