Google has quietly updated its update landing page to inform you that the July 2022 Product Reviews Update has finished rolling out on August 2, 2022. When first announced on July 27, 2022, Google said it would “take him two to three weeks to complete.” ,” But apparently this only took six days.
July 27th to August 6th. This July 2022 product review update only took 6 days to fully roll out, which is honestly amazing. The changes from the tracking tools were very limited and to be honest some sites seemed to be getting harder by this update but there has been a lot of SEO community chatter about ranking changes due to this update. It doesn’t look like there was. In fact, we saw a spike on August 3rd, but apparently after this update was completed.
Updates to Google Product Reviews. The Google Product Reviews update is intended to encourage review content beyond much of the templated information found on the web. Google says it promotes these types of product reviews in its search result rankings.
Google does not directly penalize low-quality product reviews that “are simply thin summaries of many products.” However, if you provide content like that and your rankings drop because other content is promoted above you, it definitely feels like a penalty. It’s not a penalty for your content. Google will simply provide sites with more insightful review content and rank them higher than yours.
Technically, this update only affects product review content, not other types of content.
