Google’s October 2022 spam update, which began rolling out on October 19, 2022 at approximately 11:00 AM ET, was completed within 48 hours of its launch. The update finished rolling out on October 21, 2022 at approximately 5:00 AM ET.
Presentation. Google has quietly updated its Search Updates page, stating, “We have released the October 2022 spam update. This update is global and affects all languages. The rollout was completed on October 21, 2022.“
The additions are in bold above and say, “Rollout completed on October 21, 2022.”
What are spam updates? Google writes:
“Google’s automated system for detecting search spam is always up and running, but we sometimes make significant improvements to how it works. When we do, we call this a spam update, and it happens in a list of ranking updates in Google Search. If you do, for example, SpamBrain is an AI-based anti-spam system, we are constantly improving our system to better detect spam and ensure that new types of spam are detected.After spam updates Sites that see changes should review their spam policies to ensure they comply with them.Sites that violate our policies may rank lower in results or may not appear in results at all. If automated systems learn over months that a site complies with our spam policy, making changes may help improve the site.”
previous update. Prior to this, the most recent Google spam update we saw was the November 2021 spam update. Google has also released his two-part spam updates for June 23, 2021 and his June 28, 2021, and Links his spam updates for July, 2021.
It took eight days for the November 2021 junk email update to be fully rolled out.
