SEO agency Tecmark was founded by Richard Heyes in 2008 and is celebrating its 15th anniversary a decade and a half later.
This Manchester-based business has pioneered many of the fundamental processes that have helped shape the SEO industry. We pride ourselves on a strategy focused on facts that have benefited companies such as Sainsbury’s, BUPA and B&M Stores over the years.
Despite the usual highs and lows due to the pandemic, Tecmark continues to grow after a successful 2022.
Founder Richard Hayes describes the highlights on the way to the 15th anniversary celebration: Running an agency is very hard work and the road has been full of ups and downs, but I’ve been honored to have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing people along the way.
“Overall, Tecmark has seen over 200 employees provide award-winning SEO services to over 450 clients over the past 15 years.”
Highlights continued last year with three new hires, award nominations and wins, expanded digital PR services, and an all-new office.
But with such a long history, Tecmark could easily run the risk of falling behind in the industry. To reflect that they were still ahead of their time, 2022 saw a rebranding of the agency, with the original design switched to a fresh new look to reflect the change.
Marketing Manager Lydia Rutter commented on the rebranding and what it means for Tecmark: It was 2008.
“We wanted an update that represented the direction for 2022 and beyond, focusing entirely on organic search and bringing innovative SEO to our clients in an ever-changing search landscape.”
Richard adds: The rebranding highlights how Tecmark has navigated the world of digital marketing, despite dramatic changes over the past 15 years.
“We were able to constantly reinvent and find new ways to stay at the forefront of organic search marketing. It was full of people curious enough to find new ways.”
The SEO industry is so fast-paced and demanding that Tecmark in 2022 also has a focus on corporate culture. Lydia explains: From processes and ways of working to our corporate culture. In 2022, our team has defined a shared vision for our culture and what we want in our workplace.
“Focusing on team well-being through transparency, compassion, experimentation, learning, and curiosity has facilitated not only work-life balance and daily routines, but also onboarding new team members.
“Today, as we work toward a progressive company culture, many of our hiring questions relate to personal motivations and daily driving forces. Being able to work towards it is another thing, it’s about hiring the right people, not the right experts.”
With the business settling into its new offices and gearing up for 2023, Richard says what’s next for Tecmark: Tecmark will have more success in 2023.
“We are proud of everyone who has been part of our team at every stage of Tecmark’s journey and thank them for the role they have played in the story so far.
