Girl Effect uses a branded media approach to deliver behavior change messages.
We reach out and support girls around the world, both online and offline, during critical moments in their lives when they need to make choices about their health, education and financial future.
We leverage our expertise in behavior change science to motivate, inform and support girls so they can see different futures for themselves and act on those choices. , to facilitate greater demand for available opportunities and services.
Chaa Jah in India, Tujibebe in Tanzania and Yegna in Ethiopia are some of our youth brands. They exist across multiple channels: digital (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Tiktok, Whatsapp), TV, radio, print and offline. Together, these brands reach 50 million people in 20 countries in Africa and Asia.

Girl Effect has multiple programs operating as a media brand. From TV shows, radio dramas, magazines, IVRS lines, digital and social media content to global chatbots. We know our audience – adolescent girls and young women around the world – are now using digital products and social media like never before. What is needed now is a complete understanding of this ever-changing digital ecosystem. To pursue this goal, we have built a strong global digital team to support our domestic colleagues in the strategic and engaging use of digital platforms and products. An integral part of building this expertise is acquiring bright, talented and enterprising media specialists who will upskill, learn, test and execute to thrive in this ever-evolving universe.
This is a six month full-time role reporting to Senior Media and AdOps Managers. You will focus on setting, executing and overseeing the most effective promotions to help develop an efficient and impactful media strategy across the GE portfolio. You will implement both paid and organic growth strategies as required by the marketing team.
Projects you plan to work on include: (but not limited to) –
- All planned social media campaigns will be in priority regions, including but not limited to Tanzania, Ethiopia and India.
- All global brands in existence or being built
- Manage chatbot campaigns within GE.
- Currently, we are focusing on India’s Chaaja, with a view to expanding to other brands, and support SEO implementation in cooperation with the local team.

- Execution and efficient monitoring of digital campaigns –
The core platforms we use are:
- meta business manager, advertising manager, creative studio
- Google Ads Manager
Secondary platforms to use during allotted time for upskilling:
- TikTok Ad Manager
- Takataku etc.
- Digital Campaign Optimization – We place a strong focus on optimization and efficiency using promotional spend to achieve campaign and program goals.
- Monitor and report on all multimedia campaigns –
Campaign Tracking – Performance tracking, measurement and reporting on all digital marketing and promotional activities (usually at the end of each activity)
Always on Tracking – track platform growth and brand metrics for every brand in the GE portfolio
- SEO activities such as keyword research, on-page optimization techniques, SEO-optimized content creation ideas, and regular analysis of organic growth
- Become a platform champion in an ever-evolving digital ecosystem
– Maintain and manage communications with the latest information on the platforms we use
– Efficient use of test and research tools
– Monthly tool shareout and media innovation updates
Expected deliverable
The consultant will deliver the deliverables according to the scope of work. This includes:
- Maintain Rollout Calendar – Work closely with in-country teams to create and maintain rollout calendars across campaigns.
- Ensuring Timely Execution of Campaigns – From executing digital campaigns to maintaining timely tracking.
- Performance Reports – Quickly create monthly and campaign-by-campaign reports.

Consultants report directly to the Senior Manager of Global Media and Advertising Operations.
Expected Commitment
- The assignment is expected to take approximately six months to complete.
- Consultants are expected to spend up to 40 hours on the platform each week, working with the creation team and other stakeholders. This is a full time consultant for 6 months.
- Consultant dispatch period starts from February 20, 2023

Skills and expertise:
- Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English with solid communication skills to work collaboratively with a global team
- Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
- Strong analytical and creative thinking skills

- Experience working on campaigns and campaign localization in multiple countries is a big bonus.

Requirements:
- Experience using Facebook Ads Manager and Google Adwords for campaign setup
- Experience with analytics and reporting using Facebook Creator Studio, Google Analytics, Search Console, Youtube Studio, Data Studio
- Required skill: MS Excel
- Passion for solving digital advertising challenges and organic growth of sites in different languages.

Cost breakdown Any applicable taxes and other charges are clearly identified. Consultants must provide daily or hourly billing rates or proposed fixed fees for the requested deliverables.

In the proposal, the bidder must demonstrate an understanding of the requirements set forth in the RFP and demonstrate how the bidder will meet the requirements of the evaluation criteria.
GE is not responsible for costs incurred during award/contract preparation, submission, or award/contract negotiation. All documents and/or materials submitted become and shall remain the property of GE.
Proposals are valid for 90 days from the end of bidding.
